Learn More About Rugby, TN

Tennessee's Morgan and Scott counties contain the unincorporated village of Rugby. Rugby was created as a test colony for an ideal society. Although Hughes's experiment was generally unsuccessful, a small colony persisted in Rugby for the whole of the 20th century. Residents, friends, and Rugby's lineal descendants started rebuilding Rugby's original layout and design in the 1960s by saving existing structures and erecting new ones. Rugby is now a well-liked tourist destination thanks to its Victorian architecture and attractive surroundings. Rugby Colony, Rugby's historic district, was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 1972.

Until December 2013, when the "Rugby Bypass" connecting State Route 52 to U.S. Highway 1 opened, State Route 52 traveled through the town. West of Jamestown, Route 127, and U.S. To the east, in the town of Elgin, is Route 27. With the 125,000-acre (510 km2) Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area dominating the area to the north and sparsely populated rolling hills extending for miles to the south, the region is somewhat secluded. The majority of the historic district is situated along Tennessee State Route 52 or close by. The Beacon Hill neighborhood, on the north side of the city, is a more contemporary residential sector.

The median household income is about $0.00, which is about 100% less than the average median household income for Tennessee ($47,415.00) and about 100% less than the US median ($57,518,000).
